Goldenwood’s CityGuild emphasizes building local communities that engage in collaborative work, fostering mutual support, and creating diverse spaces where people can thrive together. At the core of CityGuild is the idea of creating collaborative and supportive local communities that engage in life-giving work. Goldenwood’s focus on holistic integration—combining spiritual rhythms, imagination, nature, and justice—helps individuals find a deeper sense of calling in their work and community involvement, where work is seen not just as a means of economic activity but as a creative and fulfilling expression of human potential.

We seek to accomplish this vision by:

• Cultivating a community of hope committed to re-envisioning professional growth, sharing of resources, and invigorating faith.
• Sharing meals and listening practices to cultivate the calling of hope in our work.
• Focusing on each member to discover opportunities amidst challenges, struggles, and concerns.

BENEFITS

• An invitation-based community distinctively committed to seeing hope cultivated in our city and world.

• Monthly In-Person Meal and Prayer for Members

  • The typical gathering will begin with a 30-45 minute meal where people share a high and a low and prayer concerns.
  • After the meal, 1 member will share a particular area in which they would like the help and counsel of the others in the group. The time will close with listening prayer.

• We hope this group evolves into a de facto advisory council comprised of Christians outside of your work community, giving you needed insight, discernment, and fresh perspective on questions, issues, and concerns.

• Member-initiated work excursions

  • Members have the opportunity to share aspects of their work with the others in the collective so that we might better understand and experience the particularities of each member’s work.

COMMITMENT & REGISTRATION

This group is voluntary and will continue indefinitely, as the journey ahead is long, and we do ask that each person commit to at least a year to make sure there is enough time for meaningful connections to develop. To help offset the cost of meals and administration, there will be a fee of $30 per month or $300 per year.
